Using RARP

in UNIX

Follow these steps to download the IP address using the RARP

method:

1. Append the following line to your Ethernet address table. This is

typically performed by editing the file

/etc/ethers.

2. If necessary, update your host table and alias name databases as

required by your system.

3. Start the RARP daemon, if it is not already running. This is typically

performed using the command

rarpd -a

4. Restart the AXIS 700 to download the IP address. You can perform

a restart remotely via the AXIS 700 web interface. See “Specifying

System Settings ”on page 46.
